Diagnosed Degenerative Disc Disease, Osteo Arthritis. Painful Small Growth, Calcium Deposits Under Skin, Feeling Sick. Why?

I am 60 yrs old, female, good health until back ache 2 yrs ago, diagnosed with degenerative disk disease, had L3 and 4 fused because of the word I always stumble over, but my vertebrae had slipped over to the side and there was stenosis. Well did all that and sit here today with Osteoarthritis. I've just had my first flare up, as far as my reading can tell me. Even blankets hurt. My question is about the quickly occurring small growths under my skin, calcium deposits. They are very painful. I am just plainly disabilatated. I'm going to the pool, walk on beach as much as I can am always doing something around the house - would never spend a day in bed but why am I all of a sudden so very sick and these things (for lack of better word) under my skin???

Thanks for consulting on HCM
As you told it might be scoliotic as well as kyphotic changes. In your age group it may be due to some disease like Tuberculosis of vertebra ( Pott's spine). Due to osteoporosis of bones these changes also appear. If no history of fall or some trauma is there and osteophytes formation is there then first you should consult Spine surgeon. Get an MRI done. Pain killers with muscle relaxant( Diclofenac with Chlorzoxazone) is good for early days. calcium suppliment with vit D3. Calcitonin sprey daily in one nosltril helps also.
