Diabetic, Feeling Dizzy And Light Headed. Have A Feeling Of Fogginess. What Could This Be?

I am a 47 year old female. i have been feeling dizzy/ lightheaded quite frequently for the last few weeks. Every day for the last few weeks. Come & goes sporadically. I am a type 2 diabetic but when I check my blood sugars they are 145 to 175. I check my BP 118/ 70 ish when I take my meds. !45/ 80 before meds. I don't get dizzy when I turn my head or get out of bed abruptly . I just have a feeling of fogginess , lightheaded like i'm having any outer body experience. and my perceptions are off. I weigh 217 lbs

Welcome to HCM.It would be wise to check your blood sugar when you are feeling giddy/lightheaded,hypoglycaemia is a common cause of such events. It would also help in checking your renal profile, as end stage renal disease may be a cause of this . Lacunar infarcts may be checked by a CT Scan, these may occur due to hypertension if all other parameters are normal.

General & Family Physician Dr. Het Ram Bishnoi 's  Response
Hello,
Thanks for the query to H.C.M. Forum.
Possibilities of two things may be ,
1 Hypoglycemia
2 Imbalance of various hormones due to age (47 years).
Fogginess, light headed , dizziness are an indication of hypoglycemia .
Get the blood examination for lipid profile , sugar , estrogen , FSH / L H ( hormones).
Consult a physician /Gynaecologist and get their opinion.
Good luck.
Dr. HET
