HI I have one of my sons friends staying the night (15 years old) and he is diabetic. He takes insulin before meals etc.. We had dinner at 6.00pm quiche and salad (lettuce, carrot and cheese and tomato). Can he now eat an apple, strawberries and an orange. I realise he is old enough to know what he can and can not eat but I wonder if he is still able to eat this fruit?

Hi yes he can eat these fruit but in limited quantity. His insulin dosage depends on his total glucose intake during meal and also his basal requirement.. So in limited quantity he can take. Any food is not restricted but the amount of glucose intake is restricted in diabetes. Hope this helps you.
