Pathologist and Microbiologist 's  Response
Hello
welcome to health care magic
Thanks for your query

regarding your query i will tell you that your friend is suffering from type 2 diabetes mellitus..
You didn't mention your friend's age.?

Type 2 is different from type 2 diabetes..
Type 1 means complete absence of insulin production from the pancreas
But Type 2 means either decreased production or resistance to the available insulin...

Main causes for development of type 2 diabetes is
1.sedentary life style,,
2.genetic
3.usage of some drugs
4.obesity

To control the blood glucose levels you have to take either hypoglycemic agents like metformin or glibenclimdie according to your levels...or you have to take insulin regularly..
Apart from medications life style should be changed,,
Start daily exercises,,use diabetic diet...

Untreated diabetes has many complications including renal damage,,retinal damage, stroke, myocardial infarction..

So immediately tell him to consult physician to have treatment
Hope you understand my answer
Thank you

DEAR SIR/MADAM

AGE OF THE PATIENT IS VERY IMPORTANT, SINCE HIS FASTING VALUES ARE HIGH, HE MIGHT BE INSULIN DEPENDENT. ORAL MEDICATIONS MAY NOT HELP

IN THAT CASE HE NEEDS TO UNDERGO CERTAIN INVESTIGATIONS SUCH AS C PEPTIDE ASSAY, INSULIN CELL AUTO ANTIBODIES ESTIMATION WHICH WILL TELL US WHETHER YOU ARE INSULIN DEPENDENT OR NOT.

THANKS
