Dengue Fever, Viral Fever. Will An Infant S Stamina Improve?

Doctor, my 11 month old daughter had dengue fever when she was 5 month old. She was hospitalized for 4 days and was recovering. LAst week, she got viral fever which lasted for 8 days. tested dengue/malaria negative.now she is ok. Some say, if contracted dengue , then resistance power is lost and babies will get frequent infections till 5 yr old. Is it so? what can i do to improve her stamina??

Hi there ~

I understand your concern. However, I do not know where you got the information about resistance power being lost and babies having frequent infections. On the contrary, if you have had a viral or some bacterial infections in the past, it is highly likely that you have developed immunity against that organism and you should be able to fend it off more effectively if you contract it the second time around. However this is not the case with some viral infection. Fortunately Dengue is not among them. I hope this helps relieve your anxiety. I hope this helps.

Take care and have a lovely day!
