Delayed Periods, Nausea, Cramping. Clear Brownish Discharge. Pregnant?

Hi,
I have had mild early pregnancy symptoms for a few days now (nausea, slight cramping, I have a cold). I also have had some clear brown discharge for a few days now. It is not much, just seems to appear when I go to the toilet, when I push sometimes a bit of this discharge is expelled, then I wipe and that is it. My period is about 2 days late. I tested yesterday for pregnancy and got a very very faint line. How long should I wait to test again? I feel these symptoms are normal, but sometimes I run into these forums that talk about cervical cancer and ectopic pregnancies...

Hi,
A home pregnancy test gets positive at about 3-7 days after a missed period. So, you should repeat the test after 3-4 days with a fresh early morning sample of urine. The discharge could be due to the implantation but usually implantation bleed is a fresh one. You can also get a trans-vaginal sonogram about a week later to get a confirmation and also to exclude an ectopic pregnancy. See a gynecologist for a local exam and further suggestions. Take care.

Hi and welcome to HCM!

Thanks for posting your query here.

The symptoms you are saying are correlating with early signs of pregnancy which seems to be very weak. The faint line you are seeing is positive pregnancy. Please use folic acid which will support the pregnancy. After using for one week if you test the urine you will get a strong positive line.

Now the alarming thing is your brown discharge which should be taken care of. Is it the first pregnancy or any miscarriages are there before? if it is you need to take care a lot. Avoid strenuous work and if possible take absolute bed rest.

In cervical cancer you wont get a positive pregnancy line. Ectopic pregnancy can be ruled out by taking a sonogram. Hence dont worry.

Its time to look your gynaec doc. They will examine and look for any bleeding causes.

Hope this is helpful to you
Regards
