Delayed period, have period like pains, constant yawning, sick feeling, negative pregnancy test. Suggestion?

My period is 5 days late. My cycle is 30 days. I have period like pain on the left side of my stomach . I don t have the usual back pain I usually experience before my period. I ve been sleeping very well but have started to yawn constantly through the day. I feel sick throughout the day but I haven t been physically sick, sometimes the sick feeling is still there after i eat. I did a home pregnancy test yesterday evening which came back as negative.

A home pregnancy test usually reads well at this stage, should there be a pregnancy, if you do it with a fresh early morning sample of urine. Failure to do so means that you may not be pregnant. You can wait either for a couple of days more or go for the estimation of the serum beta-hCG titres for a better and an earlier confirmation. You can also get a trans-vaginal sonogram to clarify the situation. Hope you find this information useful. Take care.
