Hi,
Welcome to HCM,
Thanks for your query, Daphne pills are used for
contraception, particularly in conditions of intolerance from estrogen-progestogen formulated drugs or when estrogens are not recommended. It is an oral contraceptive drug containing just progestogen. Progestogens activities are comparable to that of
progesterone. Daphne pills prevent ovulation, slims the lining of the uterus and condenses the cervical mucus. All together, these activities stop pregnancy. Few patients might incur adverse reactions such as vomiting, nausea, bowel disturbance, skin rashes, headache, depression, breast discomfort, and weight alteration. Menstrual abnormalities such as-
breakthrough bleeding, spotting, amenorrhea and
menorrhagia are general with progestogen containing pills. The majority of these adverse reactions is gentle and generally vanishes within a small number of weeks of administering the contraceptive pill. Women who are administering daphne have minor threat for thromboembolic and cardiovascular problems than those taking shared
oral contraceptive pills. Hope I have answered your query, if you have any more questions will be happy to respond. Thanks
