Cut With Razor Deeply, Bleeding. Need Stitches?

I was cutting myself last night (10:45pm) with a razor and I think I cut too deep cause I have 3/16th of a inch cut in width / 2in long / 2/16th inch deep. was bleeding for 1 hour 1/2 even with pressure on it. Put a med tape on it to close gap (didn't work), put a gauges on it, and took a wrap and wrapped it tightly for 3hrs. then took the wrap off. Do think this cut / slit need stitches or can it heal on its own ???

Hi, thanks for writing to HCM.

Based on your description, a bleeding wound always signifies a major injury which needs medical attention. Don't try to meddle it too much as there is every likely chance of it getting infected. As the injury has been caused by a rajor, there is also a chance of tetanus infection.

So, I suggest you to go to the ER for further management of the injury.

Hope this information is helpful. Good day
