Crohns Disease, Severe EN, Painful. EN Will Go Away On Its Own Eventually Correct?

I have an extreme case of EN brought on by Crohns disease . In the beginning of this year I had opted to stop taking any and all meds for this condition as I had decided the poison they were prescribing/injecting me with was doing more harm to my body than good and ultimatley, I did not see, or feel, a difference relating to my chrones disease. In the past, the doctors would prescribe me prednisone for my sever EN and that actually would help, but I am trying to do without any meds if possible. From everything I have read online, EN WILL go away on its own eventually correct? I am currently in sever pain, but will soldier through if I can be assured It will eventually go away on its own. In addition, I have suffered a personal trama that has caused me to drink more alcohol than I am sure is recommended. Could this have anything do to with my EN outbreak?? please help!!

Hi there ~

I understand your concern and I am glad you bring this up on this forum. I am glad to hear that you had been listening to your doctors before. Prednisone can help alleviate your pain and heal you faster than letting your body heal itself. It will also stress your body to the point where you may just have a breakdown. This is resulting in your thinking about maladaptive mechanisms like drinking alcohol which is obviously not good for your EN or crohn's disease or your general health. I recommend that you take your doctor's advise. I hope this helps.

Take care and have a lovely day!
