Could Weight Gain And Late Period Be Suggestive Of Pregnancy?

Hi I have been having a problem with my period. I am sexually active with my boyfriend and the last time we had sex was on november 28th. I got my period on december 20th. Then after that we had not done anything. On Jan 11th I started having brown discharge. It last for 2 days and then went to red bleeding for about 5 days and then back to the brown for a day or two. So I thought that was my period. After that it stopped for about 2 days but then it continued again and has been going on now for about 3 weeks. When my boyfriend and I have sex we always use a condom and he pulls out before he goes as well. Also as a side note I am in college, my last year, and I have gained about 10 lbs and this last semester and while I was home over break I tried to eat better and began to exercise. And also during this problem I have been having I have been worrying and stressing because this has never happened before. Could you help me. Thanks!

Hi..first of all according to your complaints, get a urine pregnancy test done at home by self to rule out pregnancy although it is highly unlikely , followed by an ultrasound lower abdomen- this would give information regarding any fibroid, polycystic ovaries and in any case if you have been pregnant the status of embryo or retained products.. Simultaneously serum tsh and serum prolactin to be done.
if pregnancy test is negative, tab tranexa thrice a day for three days would help stop your bleeding and then further decision is to be taken after a clinical evaluation of your blood tests and ultrasound reports. Please take iron tablets simultaneously
