Could The Red Inflammation Spot On My Back An Indication Of Bedsore?

my mom is 89 and had a red inflammation spot on her back with a black center-bigger than a pin prick. It popped and oozed but now isn t quite healing. I put neosporin on it with a bandaid, but now the bandaid is irritating her skin and itching. could this be a bedsore? She sits in a power recliner most of the day.

Hi,

You may be right. Take care. The history you gave may be the initial stage of bedsore. You consult dermatologist or surgeon. He may suggest to use water or air bed for sleep. Antibiotics, anti inflammatory drugs, antihistaminics etc may be prescribed by him. Apply antibiotic cream and improve her hygiene and nutritional status. I hope you got my answer.

Thanks.
