Could The Lump Near The Navel Which Radiates Pain Be Hernia And Should I Be Concerned For The CAT Scan Advised By The Doctor?
I am concerned about a hard lump the size of a grape that is located about two inches from my navel. Its round and when pressed the pain radiates to my left side and deeper. I went to my physician today and they are sending me for a cat scan. Is this something I should be concerned about. Or does this sound like it may be a hernia. My dr. Thought it may be a hernia till she started pressing around. What do you think?

Hello, After reading your history regarding the swelling near the navel region (Umbilicus) and pain radiating to the left side of the abdomen on palpating the swelling. As your treating doctor is suspecting regarding navel hernia it should be confirmed by the CAT scan. Not to worry to much regarding the swelling if it is hernia also it can be treated with ease. I can understand your anxiety but wait till the CAT scan report comes than we can decide the modality of treatment. Thank you
