Could Stomach Twisting With Rectal Bleeding Be Due To Implantation?

I had an IUI two days ago and now I am having symptoms similiar to a bladder infection. It doesn't burn when I urinate, but it feel like my stomach is twisting in knots. I have a small amout of blood on the toilet paper when I wipe. I have had symptoms similiar to a bladder infection before, and then within a day or so it cleared up on it's own. I'm not sure if these symptoms are unrelated to the fact that I had and IUI done two days ago or not. Could this be implantation bleeding and my bladder infection symptoms are unrelated?

Thank you for the question and I am happy to help.

This would be too early for implantation bleeding. What you are describing could be related to:
1. A bladder infection just as you suppose
2. The hormones used during an IUI cycle can lead to enlargement of the ovaries which can be associated with pain or discomfort - called ovarian hyperstimulation
3. Bleeding from the procedure to insert sperm into the uterus

You need to contact your OB/GYN who did the procedure and see if they can get you in to check for a bladder infection and consider an ultrasound of your ovaries.

I hope that this helps and good luck!
Dr. Tim
