Could Medical Abortion Have Led To Stiffness And Bruising In Vagina And Buttocks Region?
Hi Im 24 had a medical abortion at 16 weeks , 8 weeks ago had a urine infection seems to have gone but all my bones feel bruised and really stiff all in the buttock and vaginal area it still feels tender inside. but the aching has got worse not better what could this be as Dr don t seem to be bothered. thanks
At 16 weeks of pregnancy, the baby has a considerable size and in particular, the head is well sized formed. In fact, abortion at 16 weeks of pregnancy is a miniature labour during which, vagina does get stretched and you have to stain a lot in hyper extended and abducted position of the thighs to expel out the baby. This does give stress to the perineal tissues and muscles in particular. Therefore you are having aches and pains in the vaginal area.
To get rid of these aches and pains, you may take sitz bath; i.e. sit in a squatting position a tub filled with hot water. Then contract and relax the muscles of vagina. This will soothen and relax the perineal muscles. Massage to the buttocks and thighs also will help you. In addition, some pain killer will give you some relief from the aches.
I hope this helps you.
