Could Having Firbroids And Enlarged Ovary Cause Abdominal Pain And Diarrhea?
I have been for an ultrasound and told I have six fibroids (one measures 6x5x5cm) but I have also got an enlarged ovary (3x4cm). I have also been getting abdominal pain and tenderness, some acid reflux and feeling tired and have occasional diaorrhea but don t know if the two are related. The doctor seemed to think the fact that my uterus is quite distended might be putting pressure on my abdomen. I also get hormonal migraines. Any ideas? I know it will rely on tests but any reassurance would be great. Thanks..

Uterus with multiple fibroids among them largest one with around 6 and size, can lead to the symptoms you described the like abdominal pain, gastric disturbances, etc. Whereas ovary with 3 x 4 centimeters is only mildly enlarged that may not need any specific treatment. If you are having fibroids with associated symptoms like excessive menstrual flow, severe pain during periods, etc. you may need to undergo surgical management.
If you have mentioned your age and obstetrical history, more accurate answer might have given. Depending on your age and obstetric history, the treatment option should be planned. In case of completed family, with age above 40 years, usually hysterectomy is indicated.
