Could Fever, Chills, Coughing And Loss Of Appetite Suggest Flu?

Hi, may I answeIr your health queries right now ? Please type your query here...I have been so sick the past three days. I went to doc and he tested me for flu, it came back negative. But he said he did not believe that to be true because all my symptoms pointed to the flu. I am worried because I have a four year old. I have fever of 100 or 101, chills, coughing, runny nose, loss of appetite among many other symptoms. What do you think?

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms such as fever, chills, coughing and loss of appetite which seems to be due to infection either viral or bacterial. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to take combination of anti-inflammatory drug along with Ibuprofen. You should take Amoxicillin as well for 5 days as it could be the case of co-infection. Drink plenty of liquids. You should take diet rich in soft and bland food. Visit General physician once and get it examined. Get blood tests done if symptoms keeps on persisting. Do tepid sponging as well. Take painkiller as well. Avoid intake of out side food.

Hope your concern has been resolved.

Get Well Soon.

Best Wishes,
