Could Elevated Enzymes In Muscles Lead To Weakness And Pain In Legs?

My 85 yr old mother in law went into the hospital due to weakness and pain in her legs. They commented that her muscle enzymes were very elevated and increasing. She had a transforminal epidural which relieved all of her pain and she went into a rehabilitation facility to try to regain her strength and to start walking again with a walker. In the rehab center I asked them to quit giving her pain medicine as she no longer it and was acting loopy. A wk after the epidural she started getting nauseated and was for 4 days. They put her in the hospital as they said her sodium levels were low. As soon as she went on the IV she stopped being nauseated. They said she did have a UTI which they had also treated her for on her prior hospital stay. Once they took her off the IV and were ready to discharge her, she started with the nausea again. I disagreed with discharging her so they said they would have a gastrointeroligist see her. He ordered an endoscopy and they said they didn t see anything major but she did have a.fungus in her esophogasand thrush on her tongue. They said they could not do any biopsies because she was on placix which she has been for 3 years since she had a stent put in, I have asked them to take her off it but have been unsuccessful thus far. So she has been back in the rehab and again has been nauseated for the last 2 days. The nausea usually starts in the afternoon. She has no appetite and is fearful of eating or drinking due to the nausea. She has always been very sharp mentally and lived on her own and showered by herself each day however over the last few years her walking has gotten worse and she used a walker and gave up driving. She has lost a lot of weight and is looking very frail ( losing 15-20 lbs.). I know something is not right and they are just giving her suppositories for nausea. I feel she is quickly failing in front of my eyes but can t get any answers. One thing I failed to mention is that in the rehab center they said her potassium was too high then they put her on a low potassium diet for that. Not that she is eating enough to matter. One sat thing ...she was taking simvisitation over the last 3 yrs and before that Lipitor. They stopped the simvisitation just before all of this started due to the severe leg and hip pain just before all of this started mid August. Any suggestions where we start.? I feel our time is limited.
