Could Body Rashes, Tiredness And Backbone Pain Be Related To Panadol Overdose?

Hi. I took 12 tablets of panadols about two months ago. I did not go to the hospital, as thought everything will be back as per normal. Unfortunately, i have been getting rashes all over my body, especially my lower part of body. The itch was so bad, i could hardly sleep at night. I would wake up between 1 to 3 am as the itch wakes me up. I have been getting tired easily these days, and my backbone hurts much at times. I have met several doctors, but i did not inform them about the overdose. None of the medicines actually worked. Can you please help me.

Hi,

An acute overdose of paracetamol/Acetaminophen/Panadol may result in liver failure and death. However, not after two months. But it can very well be that your liver suffered from a damage, skin conditions can be a part of that.

In acute intoxication situations with this medication the antidote is N-Acetylcysteine (NAC). I recommend to take 600mg of NAC for 5 days re-load your depleted glutathione depots. In the future do not take so many pain killers! They’ll kill you. Instead of Panadol some ibuprofen is much better and safer.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
