Could A Delayed Period With Spotting After Intercourse Be A Pregnancy?

hello dr can u pls suggest -had sex with husband using condoms on 24dec.periods were due on 25dec (usually get periods 5days later frm the expected date),now its delayed by 20days.yesterday found a drop of blood stain.i worried i dont wana get pregnent.pls guide whts the next step i need to take???????

Hi dear as you had sex in last few days it reduces the chances of getting pregnant but you are having complain of delay in period so possible causes includes stress, hormonal imbalance, poly cystic ovarian syndrome, fibroid, hypothyroidism etc. so i advise you for following investigation done serum FSH,LH, oestrogen, progesterone and thyroid profile done and USG under gynaecologist observation. Minor spot in between cycle is due to hormonal changes.
