Cough, Back And Rib Pain. X-ray, CT, Barium Swallow, Blood Work Clear. Previous Bronchitis. Advise?

I have has a cough for 8 wks now, first they thought it was reflux so started tablets, then antibiotics, then I sore a throat specialist cause before the cough I lost my voice in a coughing fit. This has happened most of last yr & this, which I had multiple answers eg. Bronchitis etc. however always got my voice back after 2 wks. This time it's a never ending coughing fit cycle, I don't always loose my voice but after 8 wks it's taken it's toll. X-ray, CT of neck, barium swallow & blood work all ok, wait whooping cough results. However even if whooping cough surely it wouldnt b going for 1.5yrs which is when I started losing my voice & coughing. Throat specialist said all clear. I go to a lung next wk, however I can't review the pain in my lower right back & back of right ribs...I can barely push a door open its sends a sharp pain through my side.how to relieve the pain? Where to if lung comes clear? I'm so tired & sore & spent so much to figure this out...I'm I better off going hospital?

Sounds like you have either cough variant asthma for reactive airway dysfunction syndrome. You would likely benefit from a course of Prednisone and or an inhaler. You should definately see a lung specialist in the near future if you can.
