Hello

Thanks for writing to Healthcare magic,

I have studied your case,

There can be nerve compression leading to back pain and neck pain.
you may need neurotropic with calcium and vit d supplement.
If required X ray spine and MRI spine.
i will advise to check B12 and vit D3 level in blood.
If required you may need injections in spine if no relief with conservative therapies.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement Dr. K. Naga Ravi Prasad's  Response
Hi, thanks for writing to HCM.

There are various causes for pain in the neck. The most common cause being CERVICAL SPONDYLOSIS (seen in elderly people)

The general guidelines for managing this problem is as follows -
* Rest: A soft cervical collar is advisable. It should not be used for more than a week or two as it may worsen the condition with prolonged usage.

* Medicines: Analgesic are needed in the acute phase. Muscle relaxants are essential for relieving muscle spasms once the acute pain subsides.

* Physiotherapy: Once the acute phase of pain has subsided, Isometric strengthening exercises of the paravertebral muscles are started. Moist heat can be useful

If the symptoms do not resolve with the above measures, consult an orthosurgeon for a detailed evaluation and follow his advice.

Hope this information is helpful. Good day
