I just want to clear up a worry. I'm 23 and have cold sores all my life. I've never had genital herpes and have always been extremely careful not to touch my genitals when I have a cold sore break out, and very regularly wash my hands. I've been in a relationship for 3 years and we have both been tested for STI's and are all clear. Recently however I have become extremely paranoid about cold sores on my genitals. I had a spot there which turned out only to be a pimple and even though the doctor confirmed it, I have been overly paranoid for weeks, constantly checking my vulva and labia every time I feel discomfort or a slight itch.
Last night I was constantly checking my inner labia on one side as I'd felt an itch there. It was a little bit red and I kept messing and now it looks like a friction burn, very red and as though the top layer of skin had come off? It is still the same now, sore and red but no blisters are apparent or anything like that. But I am worrying myself sick that it is herpes, so much so that I didn't sleep last night and cannot eat today. Please help me :(
