Chronic Sinusitis, Bronchitis, Continued Low Grade Fevers, Green Cough. Suggestions?

I have acute & chronic sinusitis & bronchitis. I am into the 2nd month with continued low grade fevers. But this am I coughed up a tiny green"chunk". I have asked both my eent & my pulmonologist since this has occurred before but neither explained what it is (it happens every month or 2) I googled your site & didn't read the post b/c this box popped up. I am a pharmacist FYI.

hi,
thank you for your query.

bronchitis is when the lining of the bronchial tubes becomes inflamed or infected.
the most common cause for it is an infection either bacterial or viral which leads to inflammation of the lining.

People with bronchitis breathe less air and oxygen into their lungs; they also have heavy mucus or phlegm forming in the airways.this accumulates over time to form yellow or greenish mucous which irritates the lining to produce cough with sputum.

there are acute and chronic bronchitis.
your symptoms suggest chronic bronchitis which has persistent, mucus-producing cough on most days of the month, three months of a year for two successive years in absence of a secondary cause of the cough.

i would suggest adequate rest, drink fluids, breath warm and moist air, and take over-the-counter cough suppressants and pain relievers in order to manage symptoms and ease breathing.

thank you for your query,
wishing you good health
