Chronic hip pain may be due to Osteoarthritis of the hip joint.
With the musculoskeletal component nerve involvement may also be like cause of the pain.
Consult your doctor and request for an MRI of the spine and hip to arrive at a diagnosis.
Physiotherapy may help you in the long run.

Since your history of illness quoted at this platform is very ambiguous and very difficult to evaluate any diagnosis.
Still I would like to say that this pain and boil ( as you mentioned in your query) may be due to chronic osteomyelitis or tuberculosis of underlying bone ( where boil situated).
As this is curable so please consult a physician and get his opinion and treatment accordingly.

There are plenty of causes for Chronic Hip Pain.
SOme are Arthritis, Bursitis, Avascular necrosis, etc.

Many times it is difficult to find the cause of Chronic hip pain with both CLinically and Radiologically.
This is because of subtle changes in the bone cannot be visible radiologically. If it is visible it is difficult to interpret.

So i advice you to go for Ultrasound of Hip joint. It is helpful in diagnosing disease in soft tissues like bursitis, as well as changes in bone.
Ultrasound hip can be used both for diagnostic as well as guided therapeutic like drug administration or removal of effusion fluid.

For your boils in a Buttock,Please consult a surgeon.
It can be look like boil, but some time it may a infected sinus or infected fistula.
If fistula or sinus, Excision with tract is best treatment.

If it is a boil, the antibiotics and wound care is enough.

I advice you to do exercise regularly to strengthen your muscles.
If you are overweight, consider about losing weight.
