Child Wounded From Domestic Dog S Teeth, Fever After Taking Anti-rabies Injection. Normal?

Hi. My 1 year and 3 months old baby was accidentally wounded from our dogs teeth (he was not bitten). Yesterday was his 2nd anti-rabies injection. After the injection, my son suddenly runs a fever. Is it normal or should I be worried and I should bring him to the hospital immediately. I am hoping for your quick response.

Hi,

Thank you for your query on Healthcare Magic.

Usually there is no fever after anti rabies vaccination.

For fever you can give Tylenol in prescribed dose.

Nothing to worry and you can show to your pediatrician.

Take care of the wound caused by the dog bite.

Look for the signs of infection of wound like redness, discharge of pus, and tenderness.

Hope I have answered your query.

Regards.
