Thanks your your query.
The boy has a viral upper respiratory infection which is a common self limiting condition at his age.
Can give him Otrivin pediatric nose drops 2 drops in each nostril 2-3 times a day.
Also consider T-minic syp in appropriate doses.
Steam inhalation twice a day would also be useful in thinning the mucus & nose block.

Pediatrician Dr. Y V Siva Sankara Murty's  Response
Hi,

Thanks for writing to health care magic.

Nose block caused by common cold can be relived by normal saline drops put into the nostrils.

But nose block because any other cause cannot be relieved by these drops.

How long is your kid having this problem?

Does your child have common cold?

If child has cough we should first diagnose the cause.

Cough in children could be because of various causes like respiratory infections, tuberculosis, bronchial asthma, foreign body aspiration etc.

How long is your child having cough? Are there recurrent episodes of cough?

Does he have any fever?

Please reply in detail so that we can help you better.

Take care.
