Child With Fever, Stomach Pain, Loss Of Appetite, Low Bowel Movement. Rashes On Hand, Backside Itching. What Could It Be?

hi, my daughter is nearly 4 years old. For the last about a week she was having fever, stomach pain, loss of appitite, feeling fatigue, has not passed stool for 3 days now. She sits on the toilet seat but does not pass stool. although she believes she has.. does not sleep very well in the night. complains of itch around the back side. sometimes she grinds her teath. Is very cranky most of the times. Has a rash on her left hand. is this because of worms? is it ok to give zentel.

Hello and welcome to HCM,

Your daughter is suffering from a couple of problems- fever, stomach ache, loss of appetite, fatigue, itching at the back (?anal region) and rash.
Itching around the anal region especially at night , and constipation can be due to pin worm infection.
A rash is caused by a viral infection. Associated fever, fatigue further indicates a viral infection.

If pin worm infection is confirmed, zentel can be given single dose and repeat it after 3 weeks.
However, you need to visit your pediatrician for the confirmation of the infection, stool test (if the child passes stools, collect the stools), and to look for any other focus of infection.

Thanks and take care
