Child Is Having Fever, Given Crocin, Zifi And Meftal But Still Have High Fever. Suggest?
Hi doctor, my 8 y old son (wt 15 kg) is having fever 102-103 since yesterday afternoon. we have given him 1/2 crocin advanced tablet at the interval of ~ 8 h. also started zifi 100 mg DT since yesterday night ( at the interval of 12 h). But his temp is still 101-102. So we gave him meftal-p (5 mL) 5 min back. Anything else is required.

tepid sponging 4-5 times daily will make him comfortable
but you investigate to know the cause of disease
better consult a pediatrician to establish the diagnosis

your child is having fever which is mostly viral in nature and settles in few days,
continue with paracetamol every 4 to 6 hourly and continue with meftal p 2 to 3 times.
Give plenty of fluids and do tepid sponging in case fever is above 102.
in case fever persist after 48 hour I suggest you to get him examined by pediatrician so as to ascertain cause and treat accordingly.
