Child Having Andominal Discomfort, Nausea, Having Normal Diet. Is It Safe To Give Decolic Suspension? Dosage?

My 3yr 5 month old daughter is suffering from andominal discomfort. She also has a fit of vomiting once but could not vomit. She has been having normal diet except that she had one prawn last night. Will it be ok to give her decolic suspension and what dose should i give her?

Hi,

Thanks for writing to health care magic.

Worms may not be the cause of every abdominal discomfort. Pain abdomen or abdominal discomfort in children could be because of several causes. One of them could be gastritis. First the nausea and vomiting should be controlled with antiemetic.
Other cause could be food poisoning. In this several members who consumed the same food will be affected.
We should also prevent dehydration from occuring in a case of vomiting. ORS (oral rehydration solution) is useful in such cases. If that is not available any fluid that contains salt and sugar is useful.

Hope this helps.
Take care.
