hi

Thanks for your query

i can feel your concerns

i advise you to continue calpol and ibuprufen alternatively fo fever

you can give these medicines 6 hourly

tapid water sponging is also helpful

give him green tea and honey

steam inhalation also improve cough

avoid cold and soft drinks

give him plenty of fluids

if his fever not settled ,then he may need a course of antibiotic as children ususally get a superimposed bacterial infection

wishing him a speedy recovery

Hope i have ansewered your query

General & Family Physician Dr. Ramesh M.Vachharajani's  Response
Hi,
As 5 days passed and still temperature continued, requires one course of antibiotic as it seems to be bacterial infection.
It is better to consult your doctor and he will decide which antibiotic to be given.
There is a chance of having pneumonia.
Give Calpol for fever as and when required.
Give enough water.
Ok and take care.
