Child Has Blue Veins On Knees. Treatment?

My 9 year old daughter has visible blue veins on just below her knees/front side of both legs. She is fair complected and has had them since she was 4 or 5----I think. She does not notice them. I have spider veins but do not remember getting them until high school……thoughts? Should I be worried. Can I treat them? Is it diet? Something more serious? Thanks!

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi,

Thank you for your query on Healthcare Magic.

Those veins are looking like superficial veins of the skin.

Superficial veins is more obvious in fair skin children and it is normal.

It is a normal thing to see superficial veins.

No treatment is required.

It is not a serious condition and not related to the diet.

But you can discuss with your pediatrician after physical examination in her next visit.

Hope I have answered your query.

Regards.
