Hello,
If you are no where near your next expected period, please get examined by a specialist to exclude local causes. You may need to get a pap smear, vaginal swab and a sonogram, preferably, trans-vaginal. There could be an episode of bleeding that may have subsided leaving stringy discharge. Hormonal imbalances may be suspected if no local cause is found, nor is pregnancy confirmed. After a complete evaluation, supplementation of hormones usually helps to solve the problem. Please get help from an expert for further management. Hope this helps.
