Cause For Continuous Hiccups?

my son is on these meds. Pristiq, My son thsts theses meds. Pritiq, Lithium Carb, Olanzapine. Hes been noticing and myself that he has acid reflux and gets hickups bad, plus when he lays down at nite the acid reflux seems to be worse, im not sure if he has swelling of the throat, but i,m concerned because he seems to get chocked and can,t swollow sometimes when eatn. Is this a big concern, sholud he let his doctor know. Now when he was on someother meds in the past, he was throwing up in his sleep and was inhaleing or you,d call it vomiting and it got in his lungs one time, and they collasped. That was back in 2010 when he was on seriqiul he no longer takes that. so the new 3 meds he,s on now is what i,m worried about. please give me any addvice. Thank You concernerd mom.

ENT Specialist 's  Response
hello and welcome to health care magic,

It is evident that your son has acid reflux which is showing itself as hiccup and that is very common especially since he has so many strong medications.

You need to immediately start anti reflux measures which you can google and also medications such as pantoprazole in consultation with your doctor.

Let him not lie down immediately after food and avoid spicy and oily food
In any case you can get an upper GI endoscopy done and get back to me or any ENT with the reports.

Hope this helps

regards
