Can't Feel The Body From Tummy Downwards After Accident, Had A Spinal Surgery. What Could Be The Problem ?
what could be the possible problem where. after accident my friend has been in the hospital for 3 weeks and still can t feel her bodyfrom the tummy downwards to the legs. she had a spinal surgery n its now 4 days and still can t feel her bodyfrom the tummy downwards. what is the possibility that she will walk again and what could be the problem. . please respond
Hi. Your friend seems to have had a major accident with injury to the spine and spinal cord. Due to this injury to the spinal cord from which the nerves to the tummy and lower limbs arise, she does not feel the sensations below this point. The possibility of her walking again would be based on how much damaged is the spinal cord. sometimes contusions or clots would recover completely, but if there is significant injury to the nerves, may be there would not be as much improvement. Recovery in the nerves is a slow process and usually occurs maximally over the initial few months. Hope I have answered your question. Thank you and wish that your friend recovers.
