What Causes Posture Issues Post A Major Spinal Surgery?
Hi, My name is Geri and I major spinal surgery Jan. 26 2017. thisi included a scoliosis correction and many other Corrections of bones I cluding vertebrae and lumbar support. My body has changed shape. I have issues With my posture and frequency of Bowel Movements . It seems to be connected. Thanks
Depending upon the severity of your condition you may be absolutely correct, however, has not the surgery made the appropriate corrections to your scoliosis? If so, then, your posture should not be affecting the ability of your bowels to move either physically or by way of compressing the nerves responsible for controlling sphincter control of the bowels themselves (if that's an issue). Your posture would only be expected to nominally affect bowel movement issues (in terms of peristalsis) if your scoliosis involves a significant curvature affecting the autonomic ganglion of the sympathetic chain that has is intertwined with the parasympathetic system (generally not AS affected by something like scoliosis but still possible if the C-spine is involved in the condition).
Hope I have answered your query.
