Can Sore Throat With High Wbc Count Cause Whooping ?

my 2 month old has been sick for two weeks. doctor said it was a viral infection last week. she has got worse though, developing graspy cough, sore throat, runny nose, constant fever for two weeks, sneezing, and they said her white blood cell count was to high, could this be turning into whooping cough?

Fever with upper respiratory tract symptoms with elevated white blood cells is usually seen in bacterial infections.Clinical features of pertusis is the characteristic whoop ,the inspiratory sound at the end of paroxysmal coughing,post cough vomiting and elevated lymphocytosis.Please consult your pediatrician for antibiotics and furher investigation if any needed.
