Can Osteoarthritis Result In Chronic Neck Pain After Having Had A Fusion?

I have chronic mild to severe neck pain at c123. I had fusion three years ago at c4 & 5 with great results. My orthopaedic surgeon does not want to do surgery because of some side effects. I have severe osteoarthritis DDD
and spurs.

Hi,

Osteoarthritis may result in neck pain. There is high chance of reduction in disc thickness leading to nerve compression. Surgery is usually avoided in mild cases. Neck support with NSAIDs will be helpful in reducing the pain.
