Can Norethisterone Help To Postpone/prepone Your Periods?

Hello I started my period on March 14th , which was 4 days late. Due to the stress and heavy work loads my cycle has altered up by almost a whole week. Meaning it will start on my wedding date (May 15th). I came across the drug Norethisterone. Will this drug at all be able to assist me with somehow keeping my period from being either before/after the wedding and honeymoon?

Hi there! Welcome to HCM.

You mentioned your periods getting late this month. This could be because of stress, as you mentioned, seasonal change, weight loss/gain etc. This may or may not happen in the subsequent months. But since you are getting married in May, you can take Norethisterone tablets ( if you are not on any oral contraceptives). This tablet can be taken as a 5mg tablet, three times a day, for as many days as u want (for upto 15 days). Bleeding will resume 2-3 days after stopping the tablet. Some side effects may be seen, such as Wheezing, dizziness, rash etc. But usually those are rare.

Hoping to have answered your question.
