Can My Thyroid Problem Affect My Unborn Baby?

hii i m sushma i m 3month pregnant i m havinh thyroid,,,it was 7.16 in 45days of pregnancy and i have tested the tsh level after using thyrnorm 25mg for a 30days and again tested the tsh value was 3.2 so there will be any problem for my babys growth ddue to thyroid

Hi,
Untreated hypothyroidism in pregnancy can lead to abortions, preterm births, low birth weight babies and so on. Since you have begun the supplementation and are being regularly monitored, you need not worry. You may need to increase the dosage of the hormone step-wise as the pregnancy advances since the requirement increases. This should be done under the supervision of an endocrinologist. Please take adequate rest and eat healthy. Wish you safe motherhood.
