Can My Resume Playing Right After Cast Removal For Distal Fracture?
Hi, I have a 4th grade son that experienced a minor distal radial fracture playing football. So minor that the Dr has no issue removing the cast at 3 weeks. Our question is whether he can resume football when the cast comes off if we tape/wrap his wrist real good?

Even though the cast can come off safely after 3 weeks for a minor fracture of the distal radius, it is strongly recommended to allow another 3 to 6 weeks for consolidation of the fracture before full fledged contact sports.
