Can Liver Haemangiomas Affect The Heavy Bleeding?

I possibly have multiple liver haemangiomas. Also iron deficiency probably due to heavy menstruation. Could the former impact on any treatment options for heavy bleeding?
Also had bilharzia as a child (and treated), could this leave deposits/affect my liver?

Hi there,

Hemangiomas shouldn't affect your menstruation cycles. They do have a risk of rupture, would could cause your anemia, but you'd have significant right upper quadrant pain if you were to have a rupture. It depends on the size of the hemangioma, but most of the time if they are small, the recommendation is usually just to watch them.

I don't think bilharzia should leave deposits in your liver and is unrelated to your hemangiomas.

I hope I have answered your questions. Please feel free to contact me should you have any further questions.
