I am 60 yr old male. I have high blood pressure. My head is congested. Coughing. No chest congestion. I am taking coricidan cough & cough. It has helped but a friend told me to take Thera-flu it would clear me right up. I told them I have HBP & may not can take it. Your thoughts on Thera flu? Thanks

Hello,

I understand your concern. Thera flu contains an ingredient that constricts blood vessels, which would make high blood pressure worse, so it is best to avoid taking it.
Coricidin is fine if you carefully follow dosing instructions. However, your safest bet is to take acetaminophen and a saline nasal spray. Also drinking plenty of fluids, getting plenty of rest and increasing the humidity in your home would be the sensible thing to do.

I hope this helps.
Wishing you good health and all the best.
