Can I Stop Cipro For UTI Inspite Of Its Side Effects?

Ive been taking cipro for 5 days now fro a UTI, but I cannot tolerate the side effects, painful labia, pain in my right leg, plus loose bowels. I returned to the doctor to get meds for the loose bowels, and the uti was cleared up. I want to discontinue to cipro because I cant take the side effects.

Urologist 's  Response
Hello and welcome to HCM.
As an Urologist,i can understand your anxiety.
Once your UTI has cleared, you don't need to continue with Ciprofloxacin.
Drink plenty of fluids.More than twelve glasses daily.
The side effects written will clear up soon and are not serious.
Wish you well.
If you've any doubts, you may send it as a direct question to me.
