Can Deviated Septum Causes Post Nasal Drip?
My son, 10 years old, had had his adenoids and tonsils out about 5 years ago. However, he has never shed a bit of mucous through his nose, before or after. He has post nasal drip however. Could he have a deviated septum? He takes allergy medicine fairly regularly.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you son has symptoms of post nasal drip which could be due to nasal polyp,respiratory track infection, deviation of nasal septum, cold and weak immune system due various disease. Treatment depends on cause of post nasal drip. If it is due to deviated nasal septum, surgery is advised in such cases. It is a minor cosmetic procedure need not to worry. If it is due to sinusitis and bacterial infection then doctor can prescribe antibiotics along with antihistamines and decongestants. If mucus is thick you can also use mucolytic agent like ambroxol to make mucus thin. Visit ENT specialist and start treatment as per diagnosis.
