Can Being On Continuous Medication Cure Seizures?

my daughter had two seizures in 2007. she went on zonisimide 200 mg a day and was seizure free for 2 years. she went off the meds ( doc ok'd after clear eeg). was seizure free for almost six months. had a seizure 5 days ago and went back on zonisimide. She is 17 now and and each of the seizures had one thing in common flashing or flickering lights. (1-ceiling fan, 1-old bubble screen computer, 1-flourescent light). Is is possible if she stays on meds till age 25 or so, this might be outgrown?

Neurologist 's  Response
She is having epilepsy in which seizures are being precipitated by photic stimulation. As after stopping drugs she has recurrence, she has to take tab Zonisamide. Meanwhile get her epilepsy evaluation done in the form of MRI brain 3 T with epilepsy protocol and EEG. Long term prognosis and chances of recurrence depends upon type of epilepsy and it's etiology.

regards.
