Can Antibiotics Be Taken For Continued Watery Diarrhea?

Hi, my husband has been in India now with me for 10 days. 3 days ago he got sick with fever, diarrea and stomach cramps. I also got sick but a day later, with throwing up and the same symptoms. I seem ok now but he still has watery diarrhea up to 15 times a day. Should we give him some antibioticc (norfloxacin or azithromycin)?

Hello,my name is Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi.
I understand your concern.
Your symptoms seem to be related to a bacterial or viral infection.
I suggest you to do a stool culture before taking antibiotics to rule out the cause.
Antibiotics can be taken just in bacterial infection.
Hope it helps,
kindly regards!
