Can Anal Fissures Cause Lymph Node Swelling In Groin Area, Fever And Chills?

I was diagnosed with having anal fissures. The doctor said 2 significant ones to be exact. My other symptoms are my lymph node in my right groin is swollen, I had a fever and chills for the first week and a half to two weeks. I have had this problem for 4 weeks now and the fissures seemed to have healed but bleed a little every now and then. Can my symptoms I had during the first couple of weeks be caused by something other than the fissure?

Dear patient.
Greetings from health care magic!!! I am Dr Thakker and shall be answering your question.

I very well understand your concern about the anal fissures and the groin swelling. I will try my best to answer your question and guide you through your problem.

Anal fissures are caused due to damage to the anal mucosa. This area is drained by the pudendal group of lymph nodes which are located in the pelvis. The anal fissures cannot cause enlargement of the right inguinal lymph node.

You have fever and chills along with right inguinal lymph node enlargement. this can be from any of the following:

1) Injury to right leg/ foot and super added infection

2) Penile or scrotal pathology with infection

3) Sexually transmitted infections like LGV, Chancroid, Syphilis.

You need to have a clinical examination done by a physician along with some tests like urine routine and microscopy to reach the diagnosis.

I hope this helps you out. If you have any more questions, please do not hesitate to write back to me.

Yours sincerely,
Dr Thakker.
