Can An Enlarged Prostate Cause Occasional Blood Specks In Urine?

Can an enlarged prostate, blood speck in urine on occasion, and numbness in upper leg/buttock (I've been told it is sciatica) all be related. A year ago in July, I was working in the yard. In less than a day, I had lots of pain in my upper leg/buttocks. At about the same time, I noticed that I have the same feeling that I had had when I had my first experience with kidney stones. Since that time, anytime that I have seen a doctor and had a urine sample taken, I was told I have urine in my blood. Every once in awhile, I can actually see specks in my urine after going to the restroom. I have had X-rays/CAT scans. The last time I went to the urologist, he used a scope to check for kidney stones. He did say that the prostate WAS enlarged. He never did say what is causing the blood. Am I being unreasonable that I am still looking for a reason why the blood is there or it this something I just need to live with? I am a 52 year old male who has lost 30 lbs since January. Currently my weight is 226 lbs. Though the numbness is still there, the sciatica has dissappered for the most part.
