Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of flu and ear pain which is due to infection of upper respiratory track infection that has spread to ear through eustachian tube . Sometimes when upper respiratory tract infection when left untreated or when occur again and again spread to ear through eustachian tube and causing pain. For now do warm saline gargles , take steam twice a day and apply warm dry compresses to external ear. I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist for proper diagnosis. Doctor may order throat swab test and allergy test to confirm the diagnosis. Doctor may do otoscopic examination as well. Doctor may prescribe antibiotics like amoxicillin at least for 10 days along with decongestant and anti inflammatory. You should take steam and blow cheeks with nose closed.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
